I watched the DVD of “13days” today.
It was a movie about the Cuban Missile crisis and the negotiations between the U.S and Russia, especially the actions of John F Kennedy and the people working around him.
One day, the U.S found the nuclear weapons in Cuba, brought by Russia. President JFK wanted to avoid a war, but the U.S forces wanted to start a war against Russia. The President tried to ask Russia to remove the weapons, but Russia didn’t listen to him.
In the end, Russia complied with the request from the U.S, so they could avoid a war.
Actually, I felt a little tired after watching this movie, because I had to concentrate to understand, and follow, the story. In addition, it was very serious and about important history for the U.S, and for the world, too.
